How to dual boot Remix OS with Ubuntu and Linux

If you are a Ubuntu or Linux user and also want to use Remix OS with these, then here is the best method that we are going to tell you. With this method, you can dual boot Ubuntu and Remix OS without losing your data and without disturbing your hard disk drives configuration. Follow the steps mentioned below to dual boot Remix OS  with Kali Linux and Ubuntu.
  • Download Remix OS 32 bit.zip or Remix OS 64 bit.zip according to your system compatibility from here.

  • Extract Remix OS Zip file using 7zip or any other archive manager. You will get Remix OS ISO file.
  • Now extract Remix OS ISO file.
  • Go to root / system folder of Ubuntu or Kali Linux.
  • Make a directory with name RemixOS and make data folder inside RemixOS folder. (do not include space in folder name.)
  • Now copy System.sfs, Kernel.img, intrid.img, install.img and ramdisk.img files from the folder where we have extracted Remix OS to RemixOS folder.
  • After pasting, come back to the root directory and go to the boot folder then grub folder and open grub.cfg file with Leafpad text editor.
  • Copy the code given below and paste into grub.cfg after BEGIN /etc/grub.d/40_custom ###
menuentry 'Remix OS' --class android-x86 {
insmod part_msdos
        search --file --no-floppy --set=root /RemixOS/system.sfs
        linux /RemixOS/kernel root=/dev/ram0 androidboot.hardware=remix_x86

  • Now save grub.cfg file and reboot. You will see Remix OS in your grub boot menu. Click on this to start Prime OS.
  • Wait for the installation process to be completed. It will take 2 or 3 minutes depending upon your computer speed. 
  • After successful installation, it will prompt you to select a language (select your desired), owner account (enter any), etc.
Now you have dual booted the Remix OS with Ubuntu and Kali Linux. Enjoy Android on your Computer.
